Thai students complete internship on aquaculture
Eight students from the Tinsulanonda Fisheries College in Thailand who completed a two-month internship programme on July 11 at Golden Corporation Sdn Bhd received certificates during a presentation ceremony.
Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam Biravij Suwanpradhes was the guest of honour.
Also present were Managing Director of Golden Corporation Richard Chuang and Director of Tinsulanonda Fisheries College Sermsak Nilwalai, who flew from Thailand to witness the event.
The students trained in various departments throughout the programme, such as the farm, hatchery and nursery, gaining hands-on work experience and understanding of the industry standards in the aquaculture and seafood industry. The students were also exposed to industrial practices and biosecurity in cultivation, breeding, grow-out and maturation of shrimps. At the end of the programme, the students presented their learnings to the management of Golden Corporation.

Richard presented certificates of appreciation to the students, as well as a token of appreciation to the ambassador.
Tinsulanonda Fisheries College also signed a Framework of Cooperation with the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) in the field of fisheries vocational education.
In recognising the importance of work placements for students’ development, Golden Corporation expressed support in continuing to provide work placement opportunities for students of Tinsulanonda Fisheries College to increase cooperation and participation in the transfer of knowledge in the fisheries industry between the two countries.
